VCE3i Teacher-Student Research Writing Competition

Guidelines:


The VCE3i Teacher-Student Research Writing Competition is an opportunity for teaching / research faculty and students to collaborate and participate in a paired, short-research writing competition. Initial Extended Abstracts are invited for submission and competition selection purposes. Full papers may be invited for possible publication opportunities at a later time.

✓ The competition is open to all full-time and part-time Hong Kong Polytechnic University 
    (including HKCC and SPEED) faculty and students

✓ Only pairs are permitted: one faculty member, one student

✓ Only one entry is permitted, per faculty-student pair

✓ Initial extended abstracts (in English) should be 2 pages, in Word, using APA referencing

✓ Extended abstracts should be formatted accordingly:
    ■ Title
    ■ Authors and affiliation
    ■ Abstract text
    ■ Summary of Findings (including at least one figure/image/table illustration) 
    ■ Discussion
    ■ Conclusion
    ■ References

✓ Send entries to vce3i@polyu.edu.hk, with the Subject heading:
    VCE3i Teacher-Student Research Writing Competition Entry

✓ All entries must be sent via official PolyU email accounts

✓ All entries must include entrants’ full name, staff / student ID number, and PolyU email address

✓ Deadline is 16 April 2018 (unless otherwise noted)

✓ Winning prize is a 32GB iPad (Wi-Fi) – one for each of the two authors (announcement will be made in late April 2018, unless otherwise noted)

✓ Winners and runner-ups may be invited to have either their extended abstracts or full papers published

Please also note: By submitting their work, participants agree to allow their submissions to The Hong Kong PolyU Virtual Campus: An Evolution in Immersion, Interaction & Innovation project to be used, in part or in full, for any project-related purposes.
